Austin, TX – April 5, 2025 – It’s finally here! The 2025 Spring Opening Day at Mabson Field is set to be an unforgettable event as all 11 GEAYA teams take the field on Saturday, April 5th. With an action-packed lineup, sponsor booths, bounce houses, music, and delicious food—including the legendary BBQ Pork Chop Sandwich from Coach Lee’s Dad—this is a day you won’t want to miss!
“It’s a big day for us today,” said Coach Lee Dawson Jr. “This is the largest Little League lineup we have ever had! Everyone is invited to celebrate Little League baseball at Mabson Field! Come on down to Mabson!”

“We have a tradition each season to let the players choose the name of their team, and each season the names are so much fun!” said Coach Lee. “It’s one of the highlights for families and players that makes our league just a little more special.”
Sponsors & Activities:
Two of GEAYA’s major sponsors, PPD and Big Brand Tire & Service, will have booths set up to greet families and hand out fun giveaways throughout the day.
“With PPD and Big Brand Tire & Service on board, plus two bounce houses, music, AND an all-out great day of baseball, this will be an amazing event!” said Coach Emaan Abdelbaki.
Opening Day Schedule:
Gates open at 9:30 AM, and Opening Ceremonies will begin promptly at 10:00 AM, featuring a welcome speech from Coach Lee. The first game will kick off right after, with the Red Lightning Bolts taking on the Dark Killer Blue Whales.
